An Olympic Event

Going for the Gold

In kindergarten, we are had our own Olympics. We had 5 major categories - Math, Reading, Religion, General Information (made up of Social Studies and Science), and of course, Physical Education. The children made their own flag out of paper plates that they colored, cut, and looped together and pasted on a white background. We have a torch made out of a paper towel holder with tissue paper that looks like a flame at the top. We had a parade with the flag and the U.S. flag and the torch. We are now doing our events. We will have a medal ceremony and post the results in the hall for all to see. At the end we will take the tissue paper out of the torch and the games will be over. They are having lots of fun and reviewing things that they have already learned.
